Important Dance Recital Information!

Dance Recital:     Saturday - May 30th

Where:                   Lowell Memorial Auditorium

IMPORTANT DATES:

Recital Shoes – Tights – Hair Order forms will be handed out in March.  Specifications for each dance in the recital will be posted at the studio.  Please be sure to check and see exactly what your dancer will need.  This is very important.  All orders must be received no later than Friday - April 3rd; to be sure all dancers have the appropriate shoes and tights for Dance Photos.

Program Ad books will be distributed at each performance.  As a special memento, you may purchase an Ad for your child (DUE BY May 4th)!  Please check our listing of all students (at the studio in upstairs balcony) in each class to be sure your child's name is spelled properly.

Dance Photos have been scheduled for Saturday - April 25th.  Group photos and individual photos will be available.  Schedules and Price Packages will be sent home soon.  Please remember that you are welcome to fix your child’s hair and make up any style that you prefer for pictures.

Ticket Sales for the Recital have been scheduled for Sunday - May 17th.  Tickets are reserved seating and sold on a first come first serve basis from 8:00 to 11:30 am. at Walker’s Gymnastics and Dance.  Tickets for the Matinee Performance are $12.  Tickets for the Evening Performance are $15.  Tuition, costumes, etc… must be paid in full in order to purchase tickets.

Any dancer performing in Act I only, of the evening show, who would like to watch Act II (and is not in the Final Bow), must have a reserved seat to return to the auditorium.  Costumes must be left in the dressing room. 

Dress Rehearsal is Thursday, May 28, 2009 @ Lowell Memorial Auditorium.  Dress Rehearsal attendance is MANDATORY.

Rehearsal will begin at 3:00 pm and will proceed in the order of the show.  Dressing Rooms will be assigned and posted at Ticket Sales.  All Dancers in the Evening Performance will be learning choreography for the Finale Bow.  This will be rehearsed at Dress Rehearsal in between Act I and Act II.  We would like very much to have all Dancers participate.

• All dancers in the Matinee Performance should arrive at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium between 2:30 and 3:00 pm. 

Evening Show Order

• All dancers in Act I of the Evening Performance should arrive at LMA by 4:30 pm.
• All dancers in Act II of the Evening Performance should arrive at LMA by 6:30 pm.

Please note:  Only one adult may accompany a student to the Dress Rehearsal. Each family will be given a Pass for this purpose at Ticket Sales.  Be sure to bring this Pass with you.

Video Taping is allowed at the dress rehearsal only.  There will be a professional videographer at the recitals.  Each family will receive a complimentary DVD.   Flash Photography is not allowed during the Matinee and Evening Performances.

Matinee Performance is Saturday - May 30, 2009.  3:00 pm Curtain.  All dancers should arrive by 2:00 pm.  House doors will open at 2:30 pm.

Evening Performance is Saturday - May 30, 2009.  6:00 pm Curtain.  All dancers should arrive by 5:00 pm.  House doors will open at 5:30 pm.

Rehearsal and Performance:  Dancers should arrive in full costume with hair and make up done.  No jewelry or underpants are to be worn with costumes.  All costumes should be according to exact instructions given in class  -- No Exceptions  -  (i.e. color and type of shoes, tights, hairdos).  The accessories are as important to the entire picture as the costume itself.

Only staff and performers are allowed backstage during the performance.  Dancers may be picked up at the Dressing Rooms during intermission, if they are not in Act II or the Final Bow not at the end of each performance.

Commemorative T-Shirts – Stuffed Bears – Floral Bouquets – Recital Souvenirs will be available through Walker’s Dance Troupe Organization.  Information regarding pre-ordering, prices, etc. will be made available soon.  All proceeds will go entirely to Dance Troupe competition expenses.
